NCT 127’s Album Release

NCT 127 released their first full album Regular-Irregular on Friday, October 12th 2018! Their title track “Regular” was released with an English version and it sounds incredible.

SM really knows how to produce music! NCT 127, as well as the other NCT units, are not new to making hit songs. NCT U’s “The 7th Sense” has remained one of my favorite K-Pop songs of all of time and I wouldn’t even consider it K-Pop since it really just falls into the overall Hip-Hop category for me!

NCT 127’s “Cherry Bomb” was released last year and it’s still as catchy today as it was when it first aired. As an American K-Pop fan, I believe the whole NCT universe is attractive to international fans due to their songs having familiar sounds and similar beats to American popular artists. They’ve gained so much popularity in such a short period of time. It’s also a bonus that English is a comfortable language for many of the members, making communication easier during International interviews as well as increasing their communication with fans. This ultimately increases the likelihood of them gaining a larger fanbase.

I am constantly impressed by each single released by all of the NCT sub-units, however, very similar to “The 7th Sense”, “Regular” has been playing on loop in my head! The fact that it’s completely in English is totally to blame for it being so catchy! If they’re doing anything right, it’s definitely this.

Their future looks bright, and it seems like many other groups are and have taken similar steps to increase their international fanbase. Got7 released their title track “Lullaby” in four languages, including English, and it helped with the success of their third full album. Red Velvet is another group that released an English version of one of their songs, “Bad Boy”.

Back to NCT 127: these guys have definitely made it Internationally! Here in America, they’ve already appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! When BTS first made it big in the States, they appeared on talk shows such as The Ellen Show and Jimmy Kimmel. The fact that these guys, especially having just debuted in 2016, have already made it to Jimmy Kimmel and invited to the AMA’s red carpet shows how much of an impact they have in the rise of K-Pop in America.

Congratulations to the guys for making the Apple Music’s Up Next Artist of the month for October 2018!

Red Velvet’s Power Up

My ten year old daughter loves Red Velvet and of course had to learn the choreography to their new catchy song “Power Up”! Their MV dropped on August 6, 2018 and you can watch it on their official youtube channel. Don’t forget to check out their new mini album “Summer Magic” too!

So here’s my daughter dancing to their MV:

BTS Idol Dance Challenge

So there’s been this dance challenge that started from BTS’s new song “Idol” and of course my Army daughter couldn’t resist trying it out herself.

Here’s the video of her doing the #IdolChallenge:

And if you haven’t already seen them, here’s J-Hope’s, Jimin’s, and Jungkook’s videos:
